20th annual Pensacola British Car Show : April 21th, 2012
THE PANHANDLE BRITISH CAR ASSOCIATION presents our 20th annual Pensacola British Car Show on April 21th, 2012, to be held at a park bordered by 9th Ave just north of the "Wall South" Vietnam Veterans Memorial and three blocks off Bayfront Parkway in Pensacola. The park is right next to the beautiful waters of the Gulf of Mexico. This is a lovely vacation or weekend paradise only walking distance to restaurants and shopping in the historic downtown Pensacola area. (This is the same as the 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 locations.)
This will be our 20th Annual show therefore we want to make it a fantastic show and our best yet! So come on down and help us give everyone a great British car time.
For early arrivals the PROTOADS* will again offer a "Red Beans and Rice" Social from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm Friday, April 20th, at the host hotel party room, Pensacola Beach Resort. Registration is open Friday night and from 8:00 am to 12pm Noon on Saturday. (*Pro-crastinating Triumph Owners And Driving Society)
Judging is by "People's Choice". Each vehicle entered will receive a ballot and dash plaque placed in the car at noon. Voting closes at 2:00 pm and awards are at 3:30pm. There were approximately 24 classes in past years and classes are determined by entries. There also are several special awards and some surprise awards. This is not a "concours" show, but a chance for British car lovers to get together, display their cars and have a good time. Any car can go home with a trophy. So bring your British "ride" this year and enjoy the camaraderie.
There is also Valve Cover Racing at approximately 2:00pm. Must be a British valve cover with overall length no more than 24 inches and no propulsion other than gravity.
Please see our website for more details, a registration form, directions and a map. We also have all photos from previous shows going back to 2001! EVERY car gets photographed and displayed on our website (not just the class winners) so you can download it when you get home.

2012 'The Mitty' at Road Atlanta April 27 - 29
Triumph is the Marque being celebrated at the 2012 Mitty with Kas Kastner as the Grand Marshall. The event is shaping up to be a unbelievable celebration of all things Triumph, including a 60th birthday party for the Spitfire, a gathering of the Spitfire Squadron, The Kastner Cup Friends of Triumph Race, a lot of regional VTR involvement including what looks to be a partial regional with a LeMans start race, autocross and car show. Both Bob Tulius and Mike Cook will also be attending as well as other Triumph personalities.
It is my job to help get the word out and to get the event mentioned and promoted in as many Triumph centric places I can. The Mitty happens April 27-29 of 2012 at Road Atlanta. More info is available at the website: http://www.themitty.com |
