TR250 CDL2976L $21,500

Description I have owned this 1968 Triumph TR250 since 1978. I bought it from it’s original owner in Richmond, Virginia.
That year, it underwent some minor body work and an Imron paint job. I would classify this car as a very good daily driver, although it has been driven very sparingly over the past 10 years. It has been garaged most of it’s life since I have owned it (with the exception of about 1 year in 1980). It is never driven in rain or snow.
Although the top is de-mounted currently, two very good ones are included.
It will need body work, as some rust is starting to show in the usual spots. Included are panels that will address most of these issues (but a good body man could probably fix the original panels) : left rear fender (good rust-free from Arizona car) , right rear fender (good rust-free from Arizona car), right front (new, from England), right and left rocker panels (new from Moss), door skins (new from Moss), trunk(boot) lid (good, but neds some finish work), Right and left “Forward deck piece” Moss# 802-145,146,
and a very good restored front grille. Also included are misc. door glass guides and a front “Racing stripe” decal, unique to the 250. There are a few boxes of misc. original parts/hoses included. There are also two re-buildable stock triumph transmissions and a stock drive shaft.
Here is a partial list of what has been done over the past few years to the car.
* new wiring harness
* rebuild of lower end of engine (bearings, up-rated oil pump)
* Mallory dual-point dizzy, curve customized at the factory for this engine
* all new engine electrics, Bosch “Blue”coil, wires
* fuel pressure regulator with gauge
* all fuel lines replaced, much stainless steel braid
* Racor heavy-duty fuel filter/water separator with a smaller preliminary filter near fuel tank
* fuel tank boiled out and relined
* new fuel pump
* triple Weber 40DCOE18 carbs, totally rebuilt in California by Weber specialists
* suspension re-bushed with Prothane bushings
* front sway bar
* new competition springs
* transmission conversion to a Toyota W28 5-speed tranny. Basis for this conversion was a kit from New Zeland.
The transmission is a 1983 Celica tranny, inspected and totally rebuilt before it was installed .
* new, custom built driveshaft.
* new clutch/ throw-out bearing/ pilot bearing
* Monza exhaust system
Missing are the side trim pieces (I DO have the side lights which are not currently mounted), but these are all easily obtainable. The seats and some inside trim are TR6.
The latest compression readings on the engine are:
(1)165 (2)163 (3)165 (4)164 (5)170 (6)165
I have confidence that the car can probably be driven almost anywhere. My only hesitation would be to consider the age of the tires, which although are in very good condition, are fairly old. The Webers will need some
fine-tuning as the car does run a bit rich, which is causing rough idle, but at speed, she runs like a bear!
The car is located on Cape Cod, Mass.
